Overview

Margadarshi Society is a child-rights-focused nonprofit organisation working in Kalaburagi (Karnataka) since 2002 to protect, rehabilitate, and empower children living in highly vulnerable conditions. Registered under the Karnataka Societies Act, Margadarshi works extensively with street children, child labourers, migrant children, and adolescents at risk of exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.

Our Operations

The organisation operates at railway platforms, urban settlements, and rural communities, providing:

  • Rescue and Interim Care
  • Non-formal Education
  • Counselling and Health Support
  • Family Reintegration

Margadarshi’s interventions extend beyond immediate relief by addressing the root causes of issues such as poverty, school dropouts, migration, unsafe family environments, and inadequate access to government services.

Strategic Programs & Advocacy

Margadarshi has implemented long-term programs in collaboration with government departments, Child Welfare Committees, and national funding agencies. These projects focus on:

  • Child protection and access to education.
  • Adolescent health and prevention of child marriage.
  • Combating trafficking and substance abuse.

The organisation has also played a key role in strengthening public systems through advocacy, research, and policy engagement.

CSR & Partnership

With over two decades of field experience, strong governance, statutory compliance, and measurable outcomes, Margadarshi Society offers CSR partners a credible, ground-rooted platform to invest in child protection, education, health, and community development initiatives with sustained impact.
